Having moved home last October, it has taken me much longer than I had imagined to really get to grips with my lovely new studio, and start painting again. There were so many distractions and I decided to concentrate on the day to day running of Viridian, whilst allowing myself time to enjoy settling into my new home.

It was with a tremendous sense of relief that I recently delivered a selection of new originals to Thornthwaite Galleries near Keswick, and Lakeland Antiques at Grasmere. There are also new paintings filtering into Viridian now, and my next project will be to put together a selection of work, for my extremely patient Galleries in Scotland.

I have all sorts of ideas rattling around for new prints this year, but haven't quite decided what to focus on first.

A huge and heartfelt 'Thank You' to every one who helped in any way over the May Day Bank Holiday exhibition I held with my students. The support and generosity we received enabled us to raise a total of £960 for Jigsaw - Cumbria's Childrens Hospice, as part of the BBC Cumbria Appeal.

The exhibition was the 15th we have held, and has subsequently grown considerably to include local crafts in the form of pottery, jewellery, felt and silk work, and wood and iron craft. It is all held together by the wonderful homemade refreshments served by members of my community.

The exhibition which has normally taken place over the August Bank Holiday, has been moved forward to the May holiday for the foreseeable future. THANK YOU ALL

There is currently an exhibition of my work in the foyer at Thornthwaite Galleries.

If you don't know the Gallery - it is well worth a visit, and there is a tea shop where you can treat yourself to a mince pie, or other delight.

Thornthwaite is about 10 minutes from Keswick, and signposted from the A66 in the Cockermouth direction. The gallery is open Mondays - Saturdays 10a.m. - 4p.m. until Christmas Eve.

I have just completed seven new originals that will be winging their way to Lakeland Antiques Gallery in Grasmere tomorrow.
