The annual exhibition that I hold with my watercolour students in Ormside Village Hall, is in full swing, so if you are looking for something to do this bank holiday Monday why not pop in. We are joined by several local crafts people so there is a really interesting mix of work this year - something for everyone. The weather has been very kind to us, and as usual while you enjoy the exhibition, there is an assortment of delicious home baked cakes to enjoy with a cup of tea or coffee. if you are unable to join us this weekend, the exhibition will be open again next weekend between 10.30 a.m.- 5 p.m.  My thanks to everyone who has supported us so far.

As this wonderful summer flies by, I have been working on new paintings for the exhibition I hold annually, over the August Bank Holiday with my watercolour students. This will be our 14th Exhibition. The first one was held to raise money for Ormside Village Hall - where we meet to paint - when the hall was in need of repair. It also gave my students the opportunity to exhibit - many of them for the first time. It was such a successful and popular event that we decided to make it a regular exhibition, and each year we select a local charity to raise money for. This year it is in aid of St. James Church Ormside, to raise money for redecoration following the completion of an extensive restoration project which was necessary to protect the building for the future. Over the years I have built up a portfolio of prints of the local area, and also show new local originals over the exhibition. This year I have found the light to have an exciting and inspirational effect on the changing colours of the landscape.
